Prince Siddhartha
I.Early Years
A. the Brahming told the king and queen that their son, he would be a powerful leader or he if he were to see suffering he would become a great spiritual Buddha.
B. He lived a life of wealth and hand many people git things for him. He was to never to see suffering.
C. He wondered of the outside world, married at 16 and lived in peace for 12 years.
D. At 29 he had a son named Rahula.
II. Significant Events
A. He goes on four chariot rides discovering there was a suffering, such as sickness, aging,and death. But on the forth trip he discovered an ascetic who told him that he(the ascetic) had found peace.
B. he left one night to become an ascetic and to find peace. He also made himself look normal.
C. At 35 he reached enlightenment to become Buddha by meditating and keeping calm
when enduring and horrible tried to scare him and temptation.
He found many truths and answers to be come enlightened. He did this under the Bodhi tree.
III.Personal Attributes
A. He could walk and talk at birth.
B. He was unsatisfied with his princely life after the chariot rides knowing of suffering in the world.
C. He learned with teachers which did not satisfy him so he set off with 5 disciples to find peace.
D. He accepted rice and milk so his disciples left him, thinking he had given up.
IV.Contributions
A.He taught people after he became Buddha about suffering and that things come and go.
B. He taught people the four noble truths, the Eightfold path, and many other other teachings to spread instead of escaping into enlightenment.
V.Personal Impressions
A.he is a good man that wanted to find peace and wants to help others.
B. He is a kind, caring person to teach other people the ways that he learned to help them.
C. He must be happy to spread his great teachings to others.

King Ashoka
I.Early Years
A. He was born 304.B.C.E. Ashoka with his father, Bindusara, during the Mauryan Dynasty, (second emperor) and his mother a commoner.
B. He became harsh and cruel to everyone, his bothers were scared to him, He loved hunting.
C. He was exiled for starting a rebellion and went to Kalinga, a country near by. And he fell in love and married a fisher woman named Kaurwaki.
D. When their father died in 275 B.C.E, the bothers fought over who should take the throne.
II.Significant Events
A. Ashoka took the throne, killing most to all of his brothers.
B. He attacked the country of Kalinga although he had a wife and was sheltered there by the king.
The king fought greatly to defend his country but lost. Ashoka took over. Ashoka did not like what he saw after the battle, so converted to Buddhism and devoted his life to it.
C. He made many edicts(messages on stone) on pillars and spread them over the kingdom.
D, Ashoka died in 232 B.C. E, being a kind king after he had his epiphany, that all animals and people should be treated kindly. His family's empire lived on for 50 more years and changing the island of Ceylon to Buddhism.
III.Personal Attributes
A. Seeing the destroyed housed, dead corpses and blood everywhere made him not feel good.
B. He provided shade and fruit trees for the people, became vegetarian. He became more merciful to his people. He was kind to everyone and even had a protected species list. He allowed for many religions,
IV.Contributions
A. He conquered almost all of India except for Sri Lanka and the Southern tip of India. This happened This happened after 8 years if almost constant war,
B. His rule was put into the Vedas,
C. He converted lots if India to Buddhism but accepted other religions into India.
V.Personal Impressions
A. I believe when he was young he sounded harsh and cruel.
B. Still after he became emperor he still seemed harsh.
C. After he transferred, he seemed nice, more concerned, devoted, and more merciful.

B, His father was prince of the Nauda Kingdom but his other could be a servant, a warrior, princess or queen.
II.Significant Events
A. At age 20 years old, Chandragupta started a new dynasty called the Mauryuan Empire.
B. He expanded his empire all the way to eastern Persia and part of southern India.
C. He gave up his rule to become an ascetic after he had his son Bindusara.
III.Personal Attributes
A. To conquer east Persia he signed a peace treaty with Seleucus and he gave him 500 war elephants and also Chandragupta got one of his daughters.
B. He built a road to connect the empire which was 1000 miles long
IV.Contributions

B. He had a successful rule with making a strong government with laws and other things too.

A. The Mauryan Empire fell and broke into separate kingdoms for 500 years these kingdoms fought in war.
B. Chandragupta I and his family came in a took over the northern part of India by uniting the kingdoms.
C. Then Samudragupta started to develop more of the Empire.
II.Significant Events
A. Samudragupta conquered many parts of India giving very little mercy. Horses were slaughtered to celebrate.
B. The Huns came in from central Asia taking over many parts of the Gupta Empire.
C. The Empire finally was completely gone in 550 C.E.
III.Personal Attributes
A. They encouraged people to write, do math, science and art.
B. Sumadragupta loved arts and Chandragupta II loved science and literature.
